How do I make sure a charter company has the legal
authority for motor coach operations?
Not all motor carriers have the legal authority for interstate (state
to state) commerce. Crown’s authority was issued by the US Department
of Transportation Federal Highway Administration in 1995. Your motor
carrier should have this authority with an assigned US DOT number.Is the charter company safe and do they comply with
all local, state, and federal regulations?
The Department of Transportation is continually conducting safety
audits of all motor carriers. Crown received a satisfactory rating
(the highest awarded) in 2005. You should check any motor carriers
safety rating with US Department of Transportation.Is the charter company properly insured?
Crown carries $5,000,000 combined, single-limit liability coverage
as required by federal law. You can ask for a certificate of insurance
from your charter company at any time.Should I look at the motor coaches before choosing
a charter company?
Absolutely. This is very important. Just call and make sure
coaches are at the facility and you can stop by Crown's offices
and tour the coaches and meet our staff. Crown takes pride in the
cleanliness and maintenance of our coaches. The uniformity in the
quality of our coaches makes it difficult to tell one coach from
another.
Are the drivers experienced?
Simply put, Crown’s drivers are the best of the best. Crown
requires three years over the road experience along with annual
MVR Checks with random drug/alcohol testing. Our family of drivers
average over six years of service with Crown Coach. Our full times
drivers have decades of over the road experience and our part time
drivers consist of fire fighters, employees of federal agencies
and other professionals in our community. They understand the importance
of what they do and take it very seriously. Most drivers are requested
for the majority of our trips. They become an integral part of the
group.How do I choose a charter company?
